We know many of you will be traveling long distances to come celebrate with us, so please do not feel obligated to get us a gift. The most important thing to us is sharing our wedding day with you.
If you really would like to get us something, please consider donating to one of these wonderful organizations (and let us know, so we can say thank you!):
Health Horizons International
HHI's mission is to strengthen the provision of primary care and improve public health in the Dominican Republic. It was co-founded by Mary's dad, and is a cause near and dear to our hearts.
American Diabetes Association
Dan's grandmother died after a long battle with diabetes that left her blind. With the dramatic uptick in diabetes it's important more now than ever to find a cure and educate people.
Whitten Maher Memorial Scholarship
Whitten was a thoughtful, empathetic debater, a talented writer and had impeccable taste in typefaces. Mary appreciated these things very much when they worked together at JMU's student newspaper, The Breeze. As vibrant as he was, Whitten battled depression throughout his life, and took his own life two Christmases ago. You can read a little about his impact on those he left behind here. This scholarship is awarded to those whose design work conveys the compassion, intensity, and well-informed reason that Whitten possessed (and we so dearly miss).
Okay, okay, we get it. You REALLY want to get us a gift. Here are a few things we wouldn't mind adding to our home:
